Job Description General SummaryThe Cashier is responsible for register transactions involving the sale and/or return of merchandise.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesInclude the following.
Other duties may be assigned.
Customer Serviceo Project a positive representation of Ace Hardware.
o Greet customers entering and throughout the store.
Thank customers by name, when possible, when they are leaving the store.
o Project a friendly, outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates.
o Clear customer checkout lines quickly and efficiently.
o Answer and monitor all calls and pages promptly, courteously and effectively.
o Communicate any problem or issue that requires management assistance.
o Continually build product knowledge base and possess the ability to assist customers with store layout and product location.
Register Operationso Follow all cash register transaction procedures.
o Responsible for balancing of register drawer.
o Adhere to any Store Support Center program or promotion that may require implementation at the cash registers.
o Participate in store and Cashier meetings.
Front End Appearance and Upkeepo Keep the front end, including checkout areas and entrance doors neat and clean at all times.
Face and dust front end.
o Call for cart pickups when necessary.
o Perform all other duties as assigned.
Education/TrainingHigh School or GED equivalent.
ExperienceCashier experience preferred.
Customer service experience preferred.
Physical DemandsStanding, walking, lifting (up to 25lbs) and climbing.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
